The White House

Welcome to First Lady Bootsi's page. The First Lady appreciates your visit, and hopes you enjoy your stay.

For those of you who may not know, the First Lady became a resident of the White House fairly recently. President Rudo was already in office (a life long bachelor!) when he met the First Lady at a Valentine's Day fund-raiser at the White House. According to all accounts it was love at first sight.

Their courtship lasted only three months before the President "popped the question", which caused some tongues to wag and concern amongst more conservative groups who felt that maybe the President should get to know his intended a little better before making such a commitment. But President Rudo set aside these comments and concerns when he responded, with his usual aplomb, that three months is actually a considerably longer period in Cat time!

During this period the President and Bootsi did the sort of things that all couples in love do. They played games together, went on picnics, and planned for their future together.

The wedding was a glorious event and was attended by diplomats and high society from all over the world. Immediately after the nuptials the happy couple boarded Air Force One for an undisclosed honeymoon location.

Although both the President and First Lady didn't want the honeymoon to end, they were also anxious to get back home and begin their new life together. First Lady Bootsi quickly was able to determine that the White House needed a new "do", and began her remodeling plans, starting with the Oval Office. The First Lady, in an interview with Barbara Walters, made the comment that she felt her husband's office lacked personality, and that the room needed a "theme".

Now that the First Lady had gotten her paws wet, she was ready to move on to the next item on her agenda. As all good wives know, you don't just stop at remodeling the house, you need to "remodel" the husband also, so to speak! First Lady Bootsi was for the most part impressed with the staff her husband had assembled, but felt that she could provide some valuable insight to the President, if approached in the right way of course.

The next item on the First Lady's agenda was to hire a personal assistant. After all, she would need someone to handle her affairs and schedule her appointments (like that lunch with Vice President Chirper!). The President suggested that she might want to solicit the services of White House Press Secretary Sheba to put out the call for applicants. Press Secretary Sheba contacted the most prestigious employment agencies in the Capital, who said that they would see what they could do in today's tight labor market, considering the extremely low unemployment rate that had occurred since President Rudo was placed in office.

Once all the applicants were assembled, First Lady Bootsi and Press Secretary Sheba proceeded to the interview room, and immediately made a decision that Press Secretary Sheba should handle the initial interviews. Press Secretary Sheba then personally interviewed all the applicants, and winnowed the list down to two candidates.

The First Lady had a decision to make, and it wasn't an easy one for her. She had some conflicts which she needed to discuss with her husband, who was always willing to help. Once the First Lady made her decision, she knew it was the right one. First Lady Bootsi, and her new personal assistant Rocco, soon formed a close bond, and a good working relationship.

The process of hiring a personal assistant had preoccupied most of the First Lady's time and attention over the past couple of weeks, but during this time there had been some unusual things happening around the White House. For one, there had been rumored sightings of a previous White House occupant who had apparently been left behind by the former administration. Also, there were reports that certain articles of White House property were missing. Suspecting that there might be a link between these events, the Secret Service heightened their security checks in and around the White House.

Shortly after this, a report was received about a suspicious looking character with a large sack that bore a White House logo leaving the grounds via the north lawn. When the Secret Service approached the individual, they were able to identify him as former White House resident Socks. Although it appeared that something underhanded may be going on, the Secret Service agents realized this was a somewhat delicate situation, and respectfully asked to examine the contents of the sack in his possession. The situation became even more suspicious as Socks became increasingly irritated and petulant after this request, repeatedly yelling something about the "Fifth Amendment".

Well, to make a long story short, the contents of the sack were revealed, thus clearing up the mystery of the missing White House cat toys. The property was retrieved, and Socks was escorted from the White House grounds with an admonition from the Secret Service not to return again. As of the date of this writing, he has not been seen again.

Now that the mystery of the missing cat toys was cleared up, things starting settling back to normal at the White House. Although the Socks situation was a bit unsettling for the First Lady, she did have some sympathy for his situation. After all, he had been abandoned by the former White House residents, and that bothered her. She began to have a growing concern about this, and the more she looked into it, the more she saw that abandonment of "pets" was a problem in the United States. At that point, she decided she needed to make this problem her next project. She started speaking out about it when ever she had the opportunity, and when you're the First Lady, there usually are a lot of opportunities.

Her proclamations were met with wide support, but little did she know that she was eliciting the anger of certain individuals from the former administration. Unbeknownst to the White House, a secret investigation of First Lady Bootsi was taking place. It culminated in a shocking story that was anonymously leaked to the New York Times . The unexpected arrival of Vice President Chirper's boys at the White House (see "The Basket" in the "Scandals" section if you haven't met the boys yet) had grabbed everyone's attention, including the First Lady's. At first somewhat appalled by the situation, she soon warmed up to them. After all, they were so cute! She began spending some time with them since they didn't have their mother, at first because she felt sorry for them, but soon her feelings turned into genuine affection. Everyone who saw her with them made comments about what a good mother she would be. Although the President and First Lady Bootsi had discussed the issue of children, they had both felt it would be better to wait until after the President's term was over at the White House. But you know what they say, things don't always happen they way they are planned...

Well, needless to say President Rudo was thrilled at the news. He had been enjoying the pitter-patter of little paws around the White House, and now there would be even more. First Lady Bootsi, after she got over her initial excitement, realized she needed to start planning for the new arrivals. One thing the White House didn't have, as well appointed as it is, was a nursery. The First Lady set about the business of creating one, but first she had to pick the right room to renovate. Once that decision had been made, it also occurred to her that the little ones would need a playroom, one that Vice President Chirper's boys could share also. She spent many long hours deciding on the right elements for each room, consulting many books and experts. The day finally came when it was time to order everything, and the delivery was made to the White House. Now the fun began. The First Lady threw herself into making each room perfect, making sure no detail was overlooked. When she was finally finished, she was extremely proud of how they turned out. The nursery had a very soothing feel to it, and the playroom would probably inspire any child's fantasies.

Inevitably the big day arrived and First Lady Bootsi and President Rudo were presented with four healthy and happy babies, one boy and three girls! . While waiting for the big event the First Lady and President Rudo had given a lot of thought to what to name their babies, but it wasn't until they arrived and they saw them for the first time that they knew what their names would be.

Like any new parents, they went a little overboard in announcing their arrival (after all, they were the most special babies in the whole wide world!). Some eyebrows were raised when the First Lady hired a world renowned film director to make a movie announcing the babies arrival, not the least of which was Vice President Chirper's, considering how his boys were introduced to the world. But none the less, everyone was excited about the new arrivals. At the same time the White House released the official portrait of the First Family, depicting the proud parents with their offspring: The three girls, Faith and Hope, (who were twins) Liberty, and little Justice, who was the spitting image of his father.
