The Vice President, unaware of what had transpired that morning, unwittingly made his way to the Vermeil Room. As he approached he noticed that a piece of paper had been tacked to the door. Assuming that it probably was an announcement that the location of the meeting had been changed (that happened often in the White House), he squinted up at the note. The first thing he noticed was that the handwriting looked somewhat familiar, and as he was puzzling over who had written the note, suddenly it hit him with the weight of a ton of bricks.
After all this time, and all this pain, it was her.
Dearest Chirper,
This is the hardest thing I've ever done.
After much reflection, I feel that I have no other choice.
I know that you can give them much more than I ever could.
